We are looking for EC&I Engineers of multiple levels (Senior, Lead and Principal) to work on either a long term contract or permanent basis.
The roles are either based in Glasgow, Reading or Warrington
Rate is c£55-68 Umbrella or PAYE equivalent per hour or £58-65,000 per annum plus 25 days' holiday and bank holidays, good pension, healthcare, hybrid working,
Job duties for the EC&I Engineer:
Main Purpose of the Role
Definition and distribution of the scope of work to ensure that all tasks are executed safely, on time, and to the required quality standards. Responsible for the delivery of all design and engineering activities in accordance with project procedures, including meeting Design Review and HAZOP requirements. Supervision of less experienced engineering staff, engineering resource management, and participation in recruitment activities.

Reporting to Principal Engineers, with ultimate line management responsibilities held by the Chief Engineer within your discipline
*
May also report to a Principal Engineer, Team Leader, or Department Manager
*
Typically supervises a design or project team of up to five engineering staff, with potential support from additional personnel
*
Accountable for the allocation of work, and the management of quality, progress, and cost within the project scope
*
Responsible for managing project subcontracts
*
Regular interaction with clients and managers across engineering disciplines
*
Responsible for internal communications within the assigned project team
Key Accountabilities
*
Design, specification, procurement, supply/manufacturing liaison, installation, acceptance testing, commissioning, and operator training for nuclear engineering projects
*
Checking and approval of project deliverables
*
Coordination and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
*
Provision of technical consultancy
*
Project management, including quality assurance, progress tracking, cost control, and documentation
*
Sales support and client engagement
*
Management of contractors and subcontractors
*
Staff development and mentorship
*
Promotion of a safety culture, compliance with relevant safety regulations (e.g. CDM, CE marking), and implementation of safety systems
*
Adherence to all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements
Experience and Attributes Required for the EC&I Engineer
Essential:
*
Degree qualified in a relevant technical/engineering discipline or equivalent experience
*
Full UK driver’s licence
*
Actively working towards Chartered Engineer status (if applicable)
*
Minimum of 5 years’ experience within the nuclear industry
*
Solid understanding of design requirements supporting nuclear safety cases
*
Proven experience in managing subcontractors
*
Knowledge of safety regulations, including CDM
*
Experience in checking technical design documentation including drawings and supporting calculations
*
Ability to lead a technical team within a professional project delivery environment
*
Strong organisational and collaboration skills
*
Demonstrated ability to work to strict deadlines
*
Quality and service-oriented mindset
