Job Purpose

As an Assessor within the Childcare team at Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor, Pwllheli, you will play an important role in the team delivering the Level 3 Children’s Care, Play, Learning and Development: Practice and Theory qualification. You will support learners to develop the knowledge, skills and professional behaviours required to succeed in the industry.


Responsibilities

The Childcare Assessor is responsible for the delivery of training, assessment and internal verification of learners’ work. The role supports full-time Further Education learners undertaking work placements across the local area, ensuring that the practical elements of their qualification are assessed in the workplace and that learners are able to demonstrate competence in line with qualification requirements.

Working collaboratively with teaching staff, employers and wider Grŵp Llandrillo Menai colleagues, the Assessor monitors learner progress, conducts workplace observations, and provides guidance and support to enable learners to successfully complete their training and achieve their qualification.

You will also contribute to programme quality improvement, support learner recruitment activities across the campus and local community, and promote the mission, values and aims of Grŵp Llandrillo Menai.


Job Details

Job Reference: CMD/220/26

Salary: £12,278 - £13,324 inclusive of holiday pay, dependent on qualifications and experience

Place of Work: Pwllheli

Holiday Entitlement: 28 days leave per annum, rising to 32 days after 5 full holiday years’ continuous service (01 September to 31 August). All normally observed public holidays, determined annually. Up to 5 days efficiency closure days per annum, determined annually. Part Time contracts will receive a pro rata entitlement to the above. Term Time contracts will receive a pro rata entitlement to the above paid as part of annual salary.

Working Pattern: 18.5 hours per week, 36 weeks per year during the college term
