Job Title - Accounts & Office Manager
Location - Newport
Salary - £26,000 - £32,000 (depending on experience)
Hours: 35 hours per week (typically 9:00am - 4:00pm, with flexibility)
Holidays: 26 days Plus Bank Holidays
JDR Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our client for a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts & Office Administrator to join their team in Newport. This is a varied, hands-on role combining finance, administration, and operational support-ideal for someone who enjoys working across multiple areas of a business.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts & Finance
* Maintain purchase, sales, general, and contract ledgers
* Process weekly wages and monthly salaries
* Manage BACS and Faster Payments, including reconciliation spreadsheets
* Prepare and submit RTI, VAT returns, CIS returns, PAYE payments, and Apprenticeship Levy
* Complete monthly bank reconciliations and monitor FX rates (USD/EUR)
* Raise sales invoices and manage purchase orders, proformas, and invoice logs
* Handle petty cash and P&L-related payments
* Recharge costs including director salaries and health schemes
* Support month-end processes, including WIP reporting and financial updates
Administration & Office Support
* Maintain accurate records using systems such as Redsky (training provided if needed)
* Complete account applications for new suppliers and perform customer credit checks
* Maintain contract files and documentation
* Monitor stock systems (goods in/out, workshop production updates)
* Check and replenish janitorial and stationery supplies
* Ensure company systems and website are functioning correctly
Operational Duties
* Read and record gas and electric meter readings
* Monitor welding and forklift gas stock levels
* Arrange waste and scrap collections when required
* Conduct weekly site checks (e.g. pest control monitoring)
* Ensure company vehicles are maintained (e.g. periodic starting)
* Track inspections, calibrations, and compliance schedules
About You
* Previous experience in a similar accounts and administration role
* Strong organisational skills and high attention to detail
* Confident using spreadsheets and accounting systems
* Experience with Redsky is advantageous but not essential
* AAT qualification (or similar) preferred
