Deputy Manager - Single Person Service
Location: Hemel Hempstead, UK
Hours: 40 hours per week
Salary: £34,000 per annum
Driving License and Car is ESSENTIAL.
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to join our team in Hemel Hempstead, supporting a single-client service. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with leadership experience in health and social care to take the next step in their career. The successful candidate will assist in managing the day-to-day running of the service, lead a team of support staff, and ensure the highest standards of care and positive behaviour support for our client with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day management of the service
* Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of support workers, ensuring consistent high-quality care
* Oversee and maintain individualised care plans and behaviour support strategies
* Ensure compliance with CQC standards and company policies
* Participate in staff recruitment, training, supervision, and appraisals
* Monitor and manage rota planning to ensure appropriate staffing levels
* Work collaboratively with health professionals, families, and external agencies
* Promote and model positive behaviour support and encourage client independence
* Handle incident reporting, risk assessments, and safeguarding responsibilities
* Step into the manager's role when required
What We're Looking For:
* Experience in a senior support worker, team leader, or deputy manager role within a similar care setting
* Knowledge of supporting individuals with complex needs and challenging behaviours
* Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
* A proactive, hands-on approach with a passion for delivering excellent care
* Ability to manage challenging situations calmly and professionally
* NVQ/QCF Level 3 (or equivalent) in Health & Social Care (Level 5 desirable or willingness to work towards it)
