Overview
Are you an experienced leader with a passion for food manufacturing? We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Food Production Team Leader to join our growing team in Ashington. You\'ll play a key role in ensuring our production lines run smoothly, safely, and efficiently, delivering high-quality products to our customers.
Responsibilities
* Lead, motivate, and develop a team of production operatives to achieve daily targets
* Plan and coordinate all production activities during your shift
* Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards at all times
* Monitor production output, quality, and efficiency, taking corrective action as needed
* Liaise with colleagues in planning, technical, and supply chain departments
* Maintain accurate production and personnel records
* Support continuous improvement initiatives and drive operational excellence
* Ensure smooth handovers between shifts and effective communication within the team
* Assist with training new staff and supporting team development
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a food production or manufacturing environment (essential)
* Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team
* Strong understanding of food safety and quality standards
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Ability to work under pressure and solve problems quickly
* Flexible approach to working hours and tasks
