Advocates is seeking a Family Support Counselor! You will provide services contracted through the Department of Children and Families (DCF), helping families to build skills, resolve clinical challenges, and access resources. Services are delivered primarily in families’ homes and in other community locations.

Minimum Education Required
High School Diploma/GED
Responsibilities
* Conduct assessments of strengths and needs
* Complete crisis plans and coordinate treatment planning, in collaboration with family members
* Provide individual and family support and coaching
* Identify community resources and develop natural supports for youth and parent/guardian
* Provide comprehensive care coordination
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field, OR 5+ years of experience working with youth/families
* Strong computer knowledge and ability to use an Electronic Health Record to document services
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
* Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
* Outstanding reasoning and problem-solving abilities
* Strongly prefer that a candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations
* Ability to read and write English
* Must have a valid driver’s license and access to an operational and insured automobile; willing to use it to transport members
