An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Safety & Quality Lead for Maternity, Neonates & Gynaecology to join our Families Division at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

In conjunction with the divisional quadrumvirate they will provide support to the Division with the coordination, implementation and delivery of the Divisional and Corporate Clinical Governance agenda.

The successful candidate will support the divisional quadrumvirate to ensure that there are appropriate systems in place within the Division on the reporting, management and investigation of clinical incidents and serious untoward incidents, including root cause analysis as required andensure that learning is shared throughout the Division/wider organisation.
They will support the Division in ensuring that, in line with the relevant policy, all clinical practice is in line with national and international best practice with particular reference to NICE, HSIB and Royal College guidance and advice.
In conjunction with Divisional Managers, Senior Midwives, Nurses and Clinical Teams they will ensure that all practice is congruent with CNST and NHSLA Risk Management standards and that evidence of this is gathered on a permanent and ongoing basis.
They will act as liaison with the Healthcare Safety Investigation Branch (HSIB); making relevant referrals, acting as a conduit between HSIB and the Division, providing information to HSIB, supporting staff with HSIB interviews, receiving draft and final reports, coordinating factual accuracy responses and presenting outcomes from HSIB cases at audit meetings.
They will undertake Duty of Candour meetings with Duty of Candour Lead and act as a liaison between families and the Division during ongoing case review/serious incident investigations.
