Edward H. Marston & Company Ltd is a well-established, independent property management and lettings firm based in Coventry. With over 110 years of history, we specialise in residential lettings and block management, delivering professional and personalised service to landlords, tenants, and freeholders throughout Coventry and Warwickshire.
Due to ongoing growth, we are seeking a friendly and organised Office Junior / Receptionist to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone looking to start or develop a career in administration within a supportive local firm.
The Role
As our Office Junior / Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our office, providing essential front-of-house and administrative support. Key responsibilities will include:
· Welcoming visitors, tenants, landlords, and contractors in a professional and friendly manner
· Answering and directing telephone calls, taking messages, and handling general enquiries.
· Managing incoming and outgoing post, emails, and correspondence
· Assisting with general office administration, including data entry, filing, photocopying, and maintaining records
· Supporting the property management team with tasks such as organising appointments, contacting contractors, overseeing incoming emails.
· Contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of the office
Full training will be provided, with opportunities to learn about the property management sector.
About You
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. The ideal candidate will have:
· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
· A professional and courteous telephone manner
· Good organisational skills and attention to detail
· Basic IT skills (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook)
· Some previous reception, administrative, or customer service experience is desirable but not essential (full training provided)
· The ability to work well as part of a small team and independently
Local knowledge of Coventry and Warwickshire is an advantage, and we particularly welcome applications from candidates based in the area.
What We Offer
· Competitive salary of £22,000 – £26,000 per annum (depending on experience)
