Overview We are looking for a dedicated HSEQ National First Aid Trainer to be responsible for the delivery and development of regulated Physical and Mental Health first aid qualifications and associated training programmes and assisting with the delivery of other relevant training across the business whilst ensuring the programmes are continuously reviewed and updated in line with legislation and industry best practice. This is a national role which will be home-based with travel as and when required to deliver training/courses. Preference for the successful individual to be based in or able to cover Midlands and South regions but open to all applications. The role comes with a company car. How will you contribute? Delivering training to meet intended learning outcomes using appropriate teaching methods and resources; Assessing delegates' competence against the intended learning outcomes; Contributing to the review and development of training courses, in line with expectations of Awarding Organisations, Qualsafe and MHFA England to the standards expected within the business and to ensure they are always up to date and legally compliant; Participating in quality assurance activities, including standardisation; Maintaining and improving own practice through continuing professional development in training, assessing, quality assurance and occupational competence / subject knowledge; Providing training at any site across the UK and Ireland; Reviewing feedback from learners to evaluate the impact of training courses and inform course review and development planning through accurate and timely reporting; Liaising with administrators and others in order to: coordinate internal and external booking enquiries; ensure that resources, including assessment materials, are prepared in a timely fashion; course capacity is utilised effectively; assessment results are submitted accurately and within the required timescales; keep financial records to enable internal cross charging and external invoicing. Supporting HSEQ training managers to meet HSEQ training team objectives as part of the strategic plan; Liaising with HSEQ managers to ensure training provided supports the needs of the business and provide verbal and written feedback about concerns identified during training courses; Working with the HSEQ team and wider business to identify opportunities to grow internally and externally; Assisting with ad hoc activities that contribute to improving the visibility and reputation of the HSEQ training team. What will you bring? Essential: Formal training qualification i.e. Level 3 Award in Education and Training, or equivalent, or higher Current regulated first aid at work qualification, i.e. Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (or alternative acceptable to the Awarding Organisation) Recent documented experience in delivering first aid at work training to a high standard Strong underpinning knowledge of first aid theory and practice A thorough understanding of the legislation and guidance connected with providing first aid at work training Able to deliver training in other areas of occupational safety and health in line with own qualifications and experience, or be willing to work towards this through professional development Familiarity with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams Verbally articulate, confident and proficient trainer with strong communication skills Highly organised Strong attention to detail Consistent, polite, approachable and helpful Open to new ideas and keen to explore new methods of training and assessment Desirable: MHFA England Instructor Status Our Culture & Benefits In addition to a generous salary, we really value our people and offer a friendly, safety-first working environment, along with other benefits including company pension scheme, generous holidays, cycle to work scheme, employee benefits include, online discount platform, onsite parking and much more.
