The Opportunity
Are you a bibliophile with the ability to ignite a passion for the written word? Can you guide students through the complexities of a Shakespearean tragedy, the precision of a modern polemic, and the creative boundaries of their own prose?
We are seeking an inspiring and intellectually rigorous English Teacher to join a high-performing faculty in Brighton. Known for its eclectic literary history—from Graham Greene to the thriving contemporary poetry and "Slam" scene—Brighton provides a vibrant, liberal, and creative backdrop for an English specialist. * Creative Writing Leadership: Cultivating a classroom environment where students feel empowered to find their own voice, experimenting with genre, narrative arc, and rhetorical devices.
* Curriculum Innovation: Integrating Brighton’s local literary heritage and diverse cultural identity into the schemes of work, ensuring the curriculum remains relevant and representative.
* Exam Mastery: Guiding examination cohorts through AQA or Edexcel specifications, with a clinical focus on essay structure, comparative skills, and the effective use of critical terminology.
