Overview
An exciting opportunity has become available to work as part of the Children and Young People's Community Nursing Service (CYPCNS) within the home care service. We are recruiting three enthusiastic, flexible and self‑motivated Health Care Support Workers (HCSW) to deliver a new home‑care package that provides child‑centred, quality care for children and young people with complex health and support needs, many of whom are technology dependent.
Key Responsibilities
* Work under the supervision of the Nurse Team Leader to provide personal care and support families in meeting the exceptional health needs of children and young people.
* Support children and young people in their own homes and wider community, working closely with partners across health and social care, third sector and education.
* Complete a competency‑based training programme and robust induction to deliver safe, effective care.
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and maintain good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Carry out duties independently while contributing to team objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience working with children and young people is required.
* Previous experience with exceptional health needs is advantageous.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Working Conditions
This is a part‑time post with a pro‑rated salary. A member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme must be obtained prior to appointment.
