JOB DESCRIPTION REPORTS TO: Senior Grants Fundraising Manager LOCATION: Based at Trees for Cities office in Brixton SW9. Hybrid working offered with at least two days per week in our office. SALARY: £33,000 per annum WORKING HOURS: Full-time, 35 hours per week. Contract: Permanent PURPOSE OF JOB The Senior Fundraising Coordinator is responsible for generating income from a portfolio of philanthropic sources (trusts, foundations, individuals and corporates) and statutory bodies to improve lives by planting trees in cities. Together with colleagues in the Fundraising Team, they will effectively manage funders and income for the organisation to deliver our goal of healthy, accessible and resilience urban forests for today and future generations. With a high number of funding opportunities and a competitive sector for fundraising, you will be skilled at prioritising funders and opportunities. Your passion for the environment and urban communities will bring their energy and enthusiasm to compelling funder communications. Your organisation skills will enable you to manage and deliver grant requirements such as finance tracking and reporting. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ● Coordinate portfolio of funders (estimated 65% Trusts & Foundations and Lottery, and 25% Corporate Foundations) donating between £10,000 to £50,000 annually to Trees for Cities, and pipeline of funders able to donate at this level. ● Develop proactive and reactive fundraising programmes targeted to your pipeline in line with team and organisation strategies. ● Secure funding in line with individual annual income and stewardship targets. ● Create project budgets tailored to each funding opportunity with support from Finance and Development teams. ● Create compelling and visually attractive grant funding applications and monitoring reports using story-telling and persuasive language to articulate project activities, outputs, outcomes and budget. ● Coordinate donor mail outs and quarterly small trusts appeals. ● Undertake grants administration with finance team (10%) by processing grant claims as required by the funder. ● Communicate with existing trust and foundation supporters and motivate them to continue their support and form closer links with the charity; this may include organising and attending site visits, events and meetings. ● Work closely with the Senior Grants Fundraising Manager to plan, deliver, monitor and evaluate grants income.Work with the Development Team to match upcoming activities with relevant funders and identify new opportunities to develop relationships further. ● Maintain records for funding applications and relationships using our customer relationship management (CRM) system (we use Donorfy) for regular analysis ● Undertake training and learning opportunities to help develop skills and knowledge of fundraising landscape. As part of working for Trees for Cities, you will also be expected to join ad hoc planting and maintenance events, including at least 3 of our weekend community planting events during the planting season, which runs from October until March. Staff will receive time off in lieu (TOIL) for occasional weekend and/or evening work.
