Job Title: Customer Relations Officer

Location: Ellesmere Port

Reports To: Operations Manager / Yard Manager

Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and customer focused Customer Relations Officer to join our team at our busy pallet yard. In this role, you will be the main point of contact for customers, responsible for managing enquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a smooth and positive customer experience. Your ability to communicate effectively, understand pallet yard operations and build lasting relationships will be key to your success.

Key Responsibilities:

* Serve as the first point of contact for all customer enquiries via phone, email, and in person.
* Provide accurate information about products, pricing, inventory, delivery schedules and services.
* Process sales orders, delivery notes and customer documentation in coordination with yard and logistics teams.
* Handle complaints and resolve issues quickly and professionally to maintain high customer satisfaction.
* Maintain and update customer records, including contact details, orders and transaction history.
* Collaborate with yard supervisors to coordinate order fulfilment, pickups and deliveries.
* Monitor and follow up on outstanding orders or pending payments.
* Gather customer feedback and report any recurring issues to management for improvement.
* Maintain a clean and welcoming reception area for walk-in clients.
* Support administrative tasks as needed, including invoicing, filing and scheduling.

Skills & Qualifications:

* Proven experience in a customer service or sales support role (experience in logistics, manufacturing, or pallet industry is a plus).
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to handle high volumes of enquiries while maintaining attention to detail.
* Proficient in emails and spreadsheets. Order management systems preferred.
* Good organisational and problem solving skills.
* Ability to work well under pressure and manage competing priorities.
* Qualifications in business or customer service are an advantage.

Working Conditions:

* Office based role within a yard environment, some exposure to outdoor or industrial settings.
* Occasional lifting of light materials or walking through yard areas may be required.
* Full time hours, Monday to Friday.
