PwC Channel Islands Overview
PwC is a dynamic professional services firm offering Advisory, Tax, Audit and other assurance services to a large portfolio of international and local clients. The Channel Islands firm employs 600+ staff in offices across Jersey, Guernsey and Alderney and is part of an international network of 151 PwC firms employing over 364,000 staff.
If you’re taking a four-year degree course with a sandwich element, a business placement at PwC CI is a valuable opportunity to gain industry experience during your penultimate year at university.
Programme
Our training programme is underpinned by a development framework that broadens and deepens your knowledge. You’ll learn from hands-on coaching and a wide variety of work, gaining business, personal and technical skills you can use across the network and throughout your career.
What you’ll do
We are looking for ambitious, creative thinkers who want to start their career in an environment that will challenge and reward them as they progress.
You’ll provide market-leading audit services to a diverse range of clients, from leading multinational companies to start-ups, family businesses, governments and private individuals. In financial services, clients span banking and capital markets, private equity, real estate, insurance, and consumer finance. Our audit helps organisations navigate regulatory complexity while strengthening trust and transparency in their business.
Business placement students will be offered the opportunity to study towards their professional Chartered Accounting qualification with work experience counting towards the time experience requirement. You’ll have support from your team, a career coach and a buddy to help you achieve this. Students who return to PwC CI after graduating will recommence their training contract from where they left off.
Depending on client needs, your time will be split between working at client premises, in the office and studying for professional exams. We trust our people to be where our clients need them, collaborating with colleagues in person as often as needed. Some travel is possible, and there will be busy times of the year.
Who this vacancy is for and what you’ll need
Our Business Placements are available only to students on four-year degree programmes that feature a sandwich placement element.
The subject of your studies is not relevant, but you need to have achieved 96 UCAS points and be on track for at least a 2.1 result in your degree.
Do you need a Work Permit?
Due to immigration restrictions in Jersey and Guernsey, the Channel Islands firm is unable to consider trainee candidates who require work permits.
When to apply
To avoid disappointment, we recommend applying as early as you can as applications for this role may close early if we receive a high volume of interest.
