Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer - Food Manufacturing
We are seeking an Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer to join a leading food manufacturing company in the UK, supplying products to retailers and the foodservice sector.
The Maintenance Engineer Role
* Provide high-quality engineering support to ensure continuous operation of plant and equipment.
* Respond quickly to breakdowns and perform effective fault diagnosis for first-time fixes.
* Maintain equipment such as conveyor belts, control systems, filling machines, depositors, metal detectors, steam cookers, and mixers.
* Identify and recommend improvements in engineering processes.
* Carry out autonomous and preventative maintenance, ensuring proper documentation of all work.
* Perform scheduled inspections to prevent contamination risks from equipment damage.
* Work with flow wrappers, gearboxes, pumps, and other key machinery.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have significant experience as an electrically biased Maintenance Engineer in the food manufacturing sector, with:
* Full qualification with 18th Edition certification
* Proven electrical engineering experience within the food/FMCG sector
* Familiarity with industrial electrical systems and the ability to read electrical drawings
* Skilled in using electrical and hand tools
* Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
* Ability to perform routine testing and maintenance of electrical systems
* Understanding of Food Safety and Hygiene policies
