Job Description
As the QHSE Manager, you will be responsible to lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of QHSE systems and procedures within the Marine Operations Department, ensuring full compliance with regulatory frameworks, environmental legislation, client requirements, and industry best practices. The role supports marine assets, offshore projects, and associated activities through effective risk management, auditing, incident investigation, training, and emergency response planning.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, implement, and maintain QHSE management systems that comply with international standards and promote a proactive safety and quality culture.
* Conduct and coordinate risk assessments and hazard identification activities. Manage and facilitate risk studies using HAZID, HAZOP, and HIRA for tool and asset development projects, vessel operations, and maritime activities. Implement risk mitigation strategies to reduce exposure and improve control measures.
* Lead internal and external QHSE audits to ensure regulatory compliance. Liaise with relevant authorities and classification bodies. Maintain audit readiness and ensure non-conformance findings are addressed promptly.
* Deliver safety, health, and environmental training across all roles and levels. Encourage ownership of QHSE responsibilities among staff and contractors.
* Lead or support investigations of incidents, accidents, and near misses. Produce thorough reports and implement corrective actions based on root cause findings.
* Analyse QHSE data and metrics. Track performance trends and lead initiatives to address deficiencies or opportunities for improvement.
* Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, site-specific environmental permits, and applicable maritime environmental codes. Monitor environmental risks and coordinate preventive actions related to discharges, emissions, and interactions with marine ecosystems. Oversee hazardous material management and waste control to align with regulatory and best practice standards.
* Collaborate with other departments to promote a culture of safety and quality
Qualifications:
* Degree or formal qualification in Occupational Health and Safety.
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in a comparable QHSE management role, with demonstrable expertise in:Maritime and offshore HSE management systems, including relevant codes and legislation.Process and quality management systems.Offshore installation operations and associated QHSE challenges.Risk management processes and assessment methodologies.Root cause analysis and incident investigation.Collection and analysis of statistical HSE data.QHSE audits and inspections.Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
* Valid offshore survival and medical certification (as required).
