The Cardiology ANPs at Glan Clwyd Hospital provide a high quality, comprehensive and innovative nurse-led service for patients who experience Acute Coronary Syndromes. They provide and facilitate timely care and interventions for patients experiencing Acute STEMI or high-risk NSTEMI for the whole of North Wales and complete the care with their 'Post Intervention Clinics'. The team consists of 6 ANPs (F/T and P/T) who work closely with all members of the Cardiology multi-disciplinary team. They are a hospital-based service providing inpatient care for patients presenting with an acute Cardiology condition and outpatient care for those attending the Rapid Access Chest Pain Clinic. They provide expert advice and support to other clinical colleagues, particularly the Acute Medical Consultants and Cardiologists and offer education, training and clinical expertise to Primary and Secondary care staff.
The post holder will be practising under supervision as a trainee advanced practitioner within cardiology. This will encompass the skills of assessment, examination, diagnosis and treatment within an agreed scope of practice throughout Cardiology services.
Main duties of the job
* To work alongside the ANPs coordinating Primary PCI calls.
* Identifying patients with acute coronary syndrome within the emergency setting.
* Assist and advise allied health professionals MDT on ECGs and treatment of STEMI and ACS.
* Work closely with CCU and MDT to ensure cardiac patients receive quality care in the correct environment.
* Complete local and national audits.
* Teach junior members of staff, and other members of the MDT.
* The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

* Registered Nurse
* Extensive cardiology experience
* ILS or ALS
* Evidence of advanced ECG interpretation
Desirable criteria
* ALS or willingness to undertake
* CCU/Cath lab competencies or willingness to undertake

* Highly developed communication skills to be applied at all levels within situations which need persuasive, motivational, negotiation, empathetic or reassurance skills.

* Evidence of involvement in leadership, team building, managing resources, time management, change management/clinical developments, audit and research
