About the Role
As an HGV Mechanic, your primary mission will be to ensure our fleet is in top-notch condition, adhering to both legal and company standards. You will play a crucial role in:
* Inspecting and maintaining our HGV fleet
* Preparing vehicles for MOT testing and transporting them to the test center
* Recording vehicle defects and maintaining accurate records of work performed
* Repairing minor accident damage
* Conducting fault diagnosis
* Prioritizing safety in all aspects of your work
Key Skills & Experience
To thrive in this role, you should possess:
*
Qualifications: City & Guilds part 2 & 3 / BTEC / IMI in motor vehicle management or equivalent practical experience in the commercial vehicle industry.
*
Experience: Commercial experience with HGVs is essential.
*
Licensing: A Class C+E license is preferable but not essential.
* A strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize your workload effectively.
Working Conditions
Location: Droitwich Depot (WR9 0LW)
Contract: Full Time / Permanent
Shift Patterns: 5 out of 7 days, including weekends
Compensation & Benefits

* Competitive pay: £20.04 per hour, with shift premiums up to £26.69 per hour
* Weekend rates: Saturday - £22.45 per hour, Sunday - £29.69 per hour
* Overtime and Bank Holiday pay at £29.69 per hour
* Unsociable hours premium for shifts between 18:00 - 04:00 at £22.78 per hour
* 33 days of holiday (increasing with service)
