About Us
We're an ambitious independent group operating across pubs, takeaway brands, and escape rooms, with more ventures in the pipeline. We run at pace and need someone who can help us stay financially sharp, not just filing numbers, but actively managing cash flow, VAT, and supplier payments week by week.
The Role
This is a hands-on, part-time role for someone who understands hospitality/retail finance and cash juggling. You'll work closely with the directors to:
* Maintain accurate purchase invoice posting and VAT coding across multiple brands (pubs, takeaways, escape rooms).
* Prepare weekly supplier payment runs (you'll prep, directors approve/release).
* Update and maintain a 13-week rolling cash flow forecast.
* Reconcile sales (wet/dry/takeaway/escape room bookings) against bank receipts weekly.
* Provide short weekly reports (Friday forecast & Monday actuals) showing cash position, red flags, and recommended actions.
* Ensure we maximise VAT reclaim opportunities (rent, refurb, wet stock, services, equipment).
About You
We're looking for someone discreet, organised, and commercially minded:
* Experience in bookkeeping or finance management (accreditations preferred, but not essential with strong track record).
* Comfortable working in hospitality/retail environments where cash flow can be tight.
* Able to prioritise: wages, rent, HMRC, key suppliers.
* Confident using Xero
* Professional discretion, you'll see sensitive numbers, and confidentiality is non-negotiable.
* Comfortable working independently 2 half-days per week (approx. 8hrs total).
Schedule & Pay
* Hours: Mondays & Fridays, approx. 4hrs each day (can be flexible around school hours)
* Location: St Ives, remote work possible after training and probation.
Why Join Us?
* Work with an ambitious, fast-moving group that's more than just pubs, we operate takeaways, escape rooms, and new ventures in development.
* Flexible, part-time hours, ideal for someone looking for meaningful work without full-time commitment.
* Be more than a bookkeeper: your role directly shapes how we run and grow.
* A chance to build processes from the ground up, not just "keep the books."
