Position: Butcher
Location: Rugby
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Shift: 06:00 – 15:00
Temporary to Permanent role after 12 week assignment.
A well-established food production business in Rugby is currently seeking two skilled butchers to join their growing meat and poultry team. This company provides a tailored butchery service with full traceability, supplying a wide range of products including Red Tractor assured, halal, imported, and free-range meat.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Preparing and cutting meat and poultry products to customer specifications (boning, trimming, tying, grinding, etc.)
2. Ensuring high standards of quality, consistency, and traceability
3. Packing products according to company guidelines
4. Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the work area in line with food safety procedures
5. Proper storage of meat products including cold storage handling
6. Supporting customer order fulfilment and managing stock effectively
7. Minimising waste and working cost-efficiently
What We’re Looking For:
8. At least 2 years of hands-on butchery experience
9. Excellent knife skills and a strong understanding of different meat cuts
10. Industry-recognised qualifications in butchery or food processing (preferred)
11. High attention to detail with good time management and organisational skills
12. Adaptable and capable of working both independently and as part of a team
13. A proactive and flexible approach to work
