HR Generalist (Fixed-Term Contract)
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 pro rata
Location: Hybrid (2–3 days in the office)
We are currently seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join our client on a fixed-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on HR professional who thrives in a standalone role and enjoys shaping and improving HR processes within a growing organisation.
The Role
Reporting into senior leadership, you will take full ownership of the HR function, providing both strategic and operational support across the business. This is a varied role where you will play a key part in developing HR frameworks and supporting managers and employees across the full employee lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Implement and improve HR processes, policies, and procedures
* Review and update the company handbook
* Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, partnering with hiring managers
* Design and embed effective recruitment and onboarding processes
* Act as the main point of contact for Employee Relations matters, including:
* Sickness absence
* Grievances
* Performance and conduct issues
* Support initiatives to improve staff retention and engagement
* Coordinate and support training and development activities
* Oversee and manage staff appraisal processes
About You
* Proven experience in a generalist HR role, ideally operating in a standalone capacity
* Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
* Confident managing Employee Relations cases independently
* Experience improving or implementing HR processes and policies
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* CIPD qualification (or working towards) desirable
