As a Graduate Environmental & Sustainability Consultant, you’ll be part of a team that’s helping to shape a better tomorrow by embedding environmental responsibility and sustainable thinking into major infrastructure projects across the energy, water, and transport sectors.
You’ll work on projects that matter—assessing environmental impacts, guiding sustainability strategies, and exploring innovative technologies that improve outcomes for people and the planet. You’ll also contribute to internal initiatives that enhance our own sustainability performance, helping us lead by example.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Environmental impact assessments: Evaluate the effects of major projects and ensure compliance with UK and international standards.
* Sustainability strategy: Support the development and implementation of sustainability plans across diverse sectors.
* Performance monitoring: Set and track sustainability KPIs and targets to drive continuous improvement.
* Innovation and insight: Explore emerging technologies and materials to inform decision-making and enhance project outcomes.
* Internal leadership: Contribute to initiatives that improve our own sustainability practices and culture.
Candidate Specification
At Mott MacDonald, we’re looking for curious, motivated graduates who want to make a real difference. Join our purpose-driven teams where your ideas matter, your growth is supported, and your work enhances the world we live in.
To be eligible for this opportunity, you will have less than 12 months’ relevant experience (excluding placements) and have a bachelor's degree (obtained no earlier than 2024) or expected to achieve one of the following degree disciplines:
* Environmental Science
* Geography
* Environmental Management
* Environmental related subject
* Sustainability

You can do this by highlighting any relevant experience or interests - such as modules you've studied, previous work experience, or any research you've undertaken about our company, values, and projects.
