We have an exciting opportunity for a Sales Estimator (PIB / Projects) to join our team at our Glenrothes facility. This role offers the chance to learn new skills and enhance existing ones. The position requires accuracy, diligence, resilience, and suits a self-motivated individual.
A market-competitive salary will be offered depending on experience. Benefits include 33 days holiday per year (pro-rata, including public holidays), a 5% employer pension contribution, and life assurance.
Outline of Role and Responsibilities
As part of the sales team, you will work to generate new and sustained sales growth, managing and developing sales. You will receive relevant training and share responsibilities within a busy sales environment. The role involves estimation of our Induction Bending (PIB) products, supporting group growth opportunities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Handle customer and internal sales enquiries.
* Build and maintain customer relationships, understanding their business needs, including account management.
* Attend customer meetings where applicable.
* Create detailed proposal documents, submit bids, and follow up to closure.
* Negotiate price, cost, delivery, and specifications with buyers.
* Source raw materials and services from suppliers for client proposals.
* Understand customer requirements thoroughly.
* Prepare accurate ITT packages, project bids, and quotations, and follow up to establish pricing and delivery terms.
* Maintain internal sales logs for reporting.
* Present at monthly sales meetings on enquiry activities and market intelligence.
* Interpret engineering drawings and material take-offs.
* Maintain commercial, contractual, and technical awareness.
* Participate in Visual Manufacturing System training.
* Support sales manager with customer visits and presentations.
* Conduct contract reviews and coordinate between sales and project teams.
* Work with the sales team to meet sales targets, analyze customer opportunities, and seek new leads.
* Liaise with other departments to ensure realistic delivery dates.
* Procure materials and services to support proposals.
* Support team members during busy periods and ongoing projects.
Flexibility
A degree of flexibility is required to deliver services effectively, and the role may involve tasks beyond those listed above.
Desired Experience / Skills
* Experience in manufacturing, preferably in cladding, welding, or machining.
* Experience with account management systems is desirable.
* Excellent communication skills, capable of building relationships remotely and face-to-face.
* Ability to prioritize and organize a high workload.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Experience in a similar manufacturing environment is advantageous.
