Job responsibilities
The post-holder willmanage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary caresetting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all patients.
Clinical Responsibilities:
* In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, thepost-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake a variety of dutiesincluding surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visitingpatients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing withqueries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
* Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation topresenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health careworkers within the organisation
* Assessing the health care needs of patients withundifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
* Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs ofillness
* In consultation with patients and in line with current Practicedisease management protocols, developing care plans for health
* Providing counselling and health education
* Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreedstandards
* Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeatprescriptions
* Prescribing in accordance with the Practice prescribingformulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
* In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake allthe normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working withinprimary care.

Person Specification
Experience
* Experience of all aspects of general practice provision, including face to face, telephone and virtual routine and urgent consultations, triage, on-call, home visits, filing documents and pathology results.
* Good understanding and experience of chronic disease management, QoF, and primary prevention and screening services.
* Ability to take responsibility for your own career development, learning and performance and are responsible for ensuring that all your mandatory training is in date.
* Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies and guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety.
* Commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a confidential manner.
* Team player with respectful manners and supportive attitude towards all members of the partnership
* Willingness to adopt change and participate in delivering success of the partnership
* Previous experience working in a training practice
* Interest in specialist clinical areas or service development

Qualifications
* Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
* Inclusion on the NHS England GP Performers List
* Completion of GP training (CCT) or equivalent

* Ability to manage workload effectively and work autonomously
* Understanding of clinical governance, safeguarding, and quality standards in primary care
