IPS Group is partnering with a respected insurer to find a talented Marine Insurance specialist to join their Underwriting team in Leeds. In this role, you’ll build strong relationships with intermediaries and customers, ensuring their needs align with the company’s objectives. Your expertise will be vital in identifying opportunities and supporting the wider team, sharing your knowledge with junior colleagues and helping to foster a culture of continuous development.
You’ll handle premiums ranging from £2.5k to £k, balancing high-volume cases with more complex, high-value risks. You’ll also enjoy the autonomy to make decisions within your underwriting authority, working with a collaborative and diverse team that values integrity and teamwork. This role is integral to the long-term success of the business, helping to strike the right balance between growth and risk management while delivering the best outcomes for clients.
We’re looking for someone with solid experience in Cargo or Freight insurance, either within underwriting or broking. You’ll bring a strong technical understanding of cargo policies, including the key principles and complexities involved in underwriting freight and logistics risks. Previous experience managing portfolios with varied and often complex risks will be essential.
