About The Company
My client, a leading manufacturing business based in Birmingham, is seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to join their Instrumentation Department.
This role reports to the E&I Manager and offers an opportunity to work within a skilled installation, maintenance, and calibration team at a lower tier COMAH facility.
This is a days-based role, working 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4.30pm.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the full life-cycle of chemical plant instrumentation projects, from conceptualization to commissioning, covering various instrumentation and control systems such as level, flow, temperature, pressure, mass instrumentation, PLC controllers, safety instrumented systems, and intrinsic safety.
* Oversee modifications of plant instrumentation systems through a management of change process.
* Maintain comprehensive records of modifications, repairs, and specifications.
Candidate Requirements:
* Recognized Instrumentation Apprenticeship and a minimum of HNC Level education.
* Several years of experience managing instrumentation projects in chemical processing or similar regulated industries (Pharmaceutical, Petro-Chem, Food, Oil & Gas).
* Experience working on Higher / Lower Tier COMAH sites is highly desirable.
* Strong understanding of DSEAR/ATEX compliance related to instrumentation.
* Proficiency with instrumentation documentation such as Loop Drawings, I/O Lists, P&ID's, Network Architecture Diagrams, Bill of Quantities, Equipment Schedules, etc.
* Good knowledge of control and safety systems, including IEC61508 & IEC61511 standards, with the ability to manage proof tests in line with HSE guidelines.
* Experience with Planned Preventative Maintenance, Total Productive Maintenance, and Continuous Improvement practices is beneficial.
* Experience working to ISO9001 standards.
