This is a key role that will drive the technical management and successful delivery of projects. Role Overview As the Building Services Manager, you will oversee the management and coordination of complex MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) design and build subcontract packages. You will ensure that the highest standards of design, construction, and commissioning are met, maintaining project progress while adhering to timelines, budgets, and safety standards. Key Responsibilities: Manage high-value MEP subcontract packages. Oversee off-site and on-site activities, ensuring compliance with project objectives and budgets. Drive cost control processes, ensuring strict adherence to financial constraints. Manage change processes and document deviations for client approval. Foster strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and construction teams to ensure smooth communication and efficient project delivery. Provide technical expertise in building systems such as electrical, mechanical, fire safety, security, water treatment, and high-voltage systems. Essential Criteria: 10 years of experience in construction, specifically managing MEP subcontracts. Proven track record of working on large-scale projects exceeding £10m. Strong knowledge of mechanical / electrical disciplines and compliance standards. Ability to drive cost control, budgeting, and financial planning. Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving skills. Experience working with clients, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects efficiently. Previous experience working with a main contractor in a similar role is preferred, but candidates with a subcontracting background and expertise in contracts and project management are also encouraged to apply. Desirable Criteria: Experience in off-site modular construction and Passivhaus MEP design. Previous involvement in public-sector projects.
