We are looking for enthusiastic Band 6 Physiotherapists to join our Trauma and Orthopaedics team and ESDOS on a Fixed term contract covering maternity for1 year across 2 separate rotations in Trauma & Orthopaedics and in ESDOS at SMH
Rotations are:
1. Trauma & Orthopaedics - Stoke Mandeville Hospital
2. Early Supported Discharge Orthopaedics Service ESDOS - Stoke Mandeville Hospital
This role will suit someone who is motivated, flexible and hard-working, and keen to support patients to achieve their potential in rehabilitation. In all rotations the role is part of a well-established and supportive therapy team. There is a strong emphasis on staff development with support from Band 7 team leads on each rotation.
Main duties of the job
To perform assessment and treatment for patients with complex needs, and to provide advice, guidance and information to health and social care professionals, carers and relatives and other non-professionals.
To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
To participate in continuing professional and service development, and contribute to organisational objectives.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Essential criteria
12. Current registration with Health Professions Council
13. Diploma /Degree in Physiotherapy
14. Evidence of CPD in the form of a detailed personal development portfolio
Desirable criteria
15. MCSP Membership
16. Specific formal courses appropriate to post speciality
17. Membership of professional special interest group
18. Field work/clinical educators course
EXPERIENCE
Essential criteria
19. Experience of at least 18 months in a junior rotational Physiotherapy post
20. Previous experience in core physiotherapy specialties including acute in patient care, respiratory, Musculoskeletal and neurology
21. Attendance at post graduate courses in related fields and demonstrates reflective learning
22. Experience of managing own caseload and prioritizing
23. Evidence of commitment to continuing professional development, and reflective practice
24. Knowledge and application of evidence based practice and clinical reasoning
25. Experience of on-call and weekend working in an acute NHS Hospital
Desirable criteria
26. Knowledge of areas of influence of psychosocial and cultural factors on health/illness behaviours
27. Demonstration of having initiated change of practice or process
28. Knowledge of areas of clinical governance including quality, audit and risk management
29. Experience in supervision of students and junior staff
30. Participation in audit and research and development activities
31. Experience of undertaking Senior (Band 6) role
SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE
Essential criteria
32. Able to make sound clinical decisions based on knowledge/experience and utilize advanced clinical reasoning skills
33. Able to carry out a range of assessments and procedures in order to make clinical assessments and diagnosis
34. Ability to integrate, participate and contribute as an effective member of a team
35. Use of and/or knowledge of POMR record keeping
36. Knowledge of Current related legislation (H&S, Data P. Act, etc)
37. Understand how to maintain confidentiality, privacy and dignity of patients
SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES
Essential criteria
38. Able to fulfill the physical demands of the role subject to reasonable adjustment under the terms of the Disciplinary Discrimination Act 1995
39. Ability to participate in on call / emergency working rota
40. Flexible to meet the needs of the service
41. Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable criteria
42. To have strategies for dealing with stressful interpersonal situations and frequent exposure to unpleasant working conditions
