Our children's home is a place where young lives are given the opportunity to thrive, and we are seeking a passionate, skilled, and compassionate Social Worker to join our team as a Manager. You will play a key role in leading the team and ensuring the well-being of the children in our care.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the day-to-day operations of the children's home, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment.
* Lead, mentor, and manage a team of social workers and support staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive atmosphere.
* Provide direct social work support to children and families, including assessments, care planning, and interventions.
* Ensure compliance with safeguarding standards, policies, and legislation in all aspects of care.
* Develop and implement individualized care plans for each child, ensuring they are tailored to meet their unique needs.
* Support staff development through training, supervision, and performance management.
* Build strong working relationships with external agencies, including local authorities, schools, and healthcare providers.
* Manage casework and reporting requirements, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately and on time.
* Promote the voice of the child in all decisions affecting their care and future.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of the children's home and social work services.
Qualifications & Experience:
* A qualified social worker with a recognized social work degree (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent).
* Registration with [relevant professional body, e.g., Social Work England].
* At least 3 years of experience in social work, with substantial experience working with children and families in a residential setting.
* Proven experience in a leadership or management role within a social work setting.
* Strong knowledge of child protection, safeguarding, and relevant legislation.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities effectively.
* A passion for improving the lives of vulnerable children and advocating for their rights.
