What You’ll Do
At Optum UK, we believe in using the power of technology to make healthcare faster, better, and more accessible for everyone. You’ll play a key role in helping us deliver on that mission.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Supporting SQL Server security and patch management to ensure our servers remain compliant.
* Being responsible for the stability, availability and performance of a highly-available database infrastructure, ensuring systems meet SLA’s
* Assisting with the setup and configuration of new database environments.
* Troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges
* Enabling and assisting with migration activities ensuring a seamless transition from legacy systems to modern cloud-based environments
* Experience maintaining large database environments with minimal or no downtime
Who You’ll Be
You’ll be an experienced DBA, with extensive SQL Server experience in an enterprise scale environment, and comfortable working as part of a team.
We value curious thinkers who seek out opportunities for improvement and efficiency. Your approach and mindset will be just as important as your technical expertise.
Essential skills and experience:
* Maintaining and troubleshooting Microsoft SQL Server 2019 with previous experience in 2008R2/2012/2014/2016 databases
* SQL Server backups, restores, DBCC, corruption and recovery
* Strong knowledge and experience in the use of third party enterprise database monitoring tools, e.g. SolarWinds, Datadog, Dynatrace
* Strong T-SQL authoring skills
* Experience with PowerShell, DBA tools, DACPAC, GitHub, Automation and IAC
* Willingness to support with ad-hoc overtime requests
* Experience in supporting SQL Server security and patch management
* Strong working knowledge and troubleshooting of MSSQL Always On Groups.
