We are a well-established portable toilet and tanker hire business that operate a large fleet of HGV and LGV vehicles across various locations situated throughout the UK. We hire temporary waste and water solutions from 1000ltr waste and water storage tanks up to 30.000ltr storage tanks. Currently members of FORS and hold Gold accreditation.
The Role
We are looking for a proactive and organised Transport Planner to join our Transport team, based at our Telford HQ Depot.
In this key role, you will be responsible for planning the daily operations of our vehicle fleet to ensure timely, compliant, and cost-effective service delivery to our clients.
Hours: Monday to Friday (flexible hours/to be discussed)
Starting Salary : £35,000.00
Key Responsibilities
Plan, schedule and allocate jobs to drivers and vehicles across multiple depots
Ensure routes are fully optimised, leveraging planning software for maximum efficiency, service levels, and fuel usage performance.
Monitor real-time operations and respond to changes or disruptions
Liaise with drivers, sales, and hire teams to ensure all changes are actioned, reported, and recorded promptly.
Maintain legal compliance by ensuring driver hours legislation is always adhered to.
Support KPI reporting and continuous improvement initiatives
Coordinate with maintenance teams regarding vehicle availability and scheduled bookings
Ensure accurate job instructions and paperwork are communicated
Requirements
Previous experience in a, multi-drop, transport or logistics planning (essential)
Strong geographical knowledge of the UK road network
Working understanding of driver regulations (WTD, EU Drivers Hours)
Proficient with transport planning software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Flexible approach to working hours, including early and late starts and occasional weekends
Desirable
Experience in the waste, environmental services, or construction sector
Working knowledge of TranSend / Civica planning software
