An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Design Manager to join a leading main contractor based in Wellingborough, delivering large-scale, high-rise residential schemes across the UK.
You’ll take a lead role in managing the design process on major projects valued at £50m+, ensuring high standards of technical delivery, coordination, and design integration from pre-construction through to completion.
The Role
*
Lead and manage the design process on complex, high-rise residential or mixed-use projects.
*
Coordinate internal design teams and external consultants to ensure timely and accurate information flow.
*
Oversee design reviews, risk management, value engineering, and buildability assessments.
*
Support pre-construction and bid teams with design input during tender stages.
*
Liaise closely with project delivery teams throughout construction.
*
Travel nationally to project sites as required.
About You
*
Experienced Design Manager or Senior Design Manager from a main contracting or developer background.
*
Proven track record delivering high-rise residential or mixed-use developments valued at £50m+.
*
Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, design coordination, and UK building regulations.
*
Excellent communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills.
*
Flexible to travel across the UK as projects require.
