Position:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medical Laboratory Assistant based at University Hospital Crosshouse.
What you will do:
* Perform a range of duties including data entry, sample registration, sample preparation, laboratory stores management/distribution, and use of specialised equipment.
* Receive training to support the liquid nitrogen dispensing service provided to GP practices across NHS Ayrshire and Arran.
Knowledge, training, and/or experience required:
* Good IT and keyboard skills; good physical mobility as manual lifting is involved.
* Educated to HNC level or equivalent in Biomedical Science or a related life science subject.
* Previous laboratory experience, preferably in a healthcare setting, would be advantageous.

Hours / Shift Pattern:
* Post 1: Permanent, 37 hours/week, Monday-Thursday 9am-5pm, Friday 9am-4.30pm.
* Post 2-4: Bank positions.
The 37-hour post involves participating in a 24/7 shift pattern, including early, late, weekend, and overnight shifts, after training and competency development.
Driving Licence / Car Ownership:
A full UK driver’s license and access to a personal car are required, as work locations may vary.
