Job Description
Mōtetūnga| About the role
You’llbemonitoringvarious activities and operations within Taranaki to ensure that Council rules, policies and resource consents are beingcomplied with.You’llbe requiredtoidentifyand report on incidents of non-compliance..You will respond to complaints from the public where you willbe requiredto attended sitesand assessactivities todeterminecompliance with the relevant rules.When breaches of the rules arediscoveredyou will be requiredto undertakea thorough evidential investigation and recommendappropriate enforcementaction under the Resource ManagementAct. You’llalso be required to work proactively with the community to ensure that compliance is being achieved.

Educating the public and resource users, promoting the sustainable and safe use of Taranaki’s natural resources is a key part of this role, so excellent communication and negotiation skills arevital..Hours of work include a 24-hour on call week,approximately every10 weeks.
Applicants willdemonstrateexperiencewithindustriesthatutilise our natural resourcesas well asother activities that are regulated by thisCouncil under the RMA. ( Ideally, this will be reinforced with a relevant tertiary qualification. Knowledge of the Resource Management Act 1991 would be an advantage. A currentfulldriver’s licence is essential.
To be successful in this role you will need todemonstratethe following:

The startingremunerationrange for this role is $79,091- $93,048per annum (including KiwiSaver) for an appropriately experienced and/or qualified individual.
