Position Overview
Clinical Nurse Specialist Palliative Care – 21.6 hours per week (Permanent). The role is part of Specialist Palliative Care Services at Borders General Hospital (Margaret Kerr Unit), including an additional 0.9 hours per week as Fixed Term until March 2027. Band 6.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialist advice and support for patients with life‑shortening conditions, their families and other important persons.
* Deliver high‑quality, holistic care, assessing patients’ needs and priorities and making safe, effective judgments and decisions.
* Work closely with professional colleagues across community and acute services to ensure joined‑up, effective care.
* Operate autonomously while being an integral member of the multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications & Experience
* Registered nurse with experience in palliative care and with people experiencing life‑shortening conditions.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
* Commitment to delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care and making a difference in care experiences.
