Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Casework Manager
Job description
About the role:
• To assist the Inclusion Managers in the management and control of
procedures which ensures that the local authority’s statutory
responsibilities on Additional Learning Needs (ALN) are undertaken
efficiently and effectively.
• To lead the casework and family liaison team, supporting pupils, families, and schools across Powys. To act as lead caseworker for our most complex cases and support Caseworker and Family Liaison Officers with their cases on a day-to-day basis.
About you:
• You will be able to work with school leaders and teachers in an advisory
role to support pupils with ALN and their families.
• You should be passionate about inclusion, equality and diversity and
have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• A background in working with pupils and families is essential and you
must be willing to undertake continued professional development.
What you will do:
• You will be part of a team supporting pupils, families, and schools across Powys.
• The role is varied and members of the service deal with a wide range of
people and community organisations: parents and carers, schools, early
education settings, colleges, health professionals such as therapists and
paediatricians, social workers, family support workers.
• You will support all aspects of casework including statutory processes
and may also support strategic development work.
