Job Summary
Principal Medical Limited seeks a Paramedic Practitioner to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centred care as part of a multidisciplinary team. The role involves diagnosing and managing acute and chronic conditions, supporting health promotion, and contributing to efficient urgent care services.
Key Responsibilities
* Clinical Assessment & Early Clinical Decision Support
o Use clinical judgement to assess patients with undifferentiated or same‑day concerns.
o Identify relevant symptoms, recognise red flags, and determine appropriate escalation.
o Prioritise patients to help clinicians manage demand.
* Delivery of Safe Care Within Defined Clinical Boundaries
o Provide structured care for minor illness or injury within established guidelines.
o Guide appropriate next steps and seek senior input when needed.
* Contribution to Patient Flow & Operational Efficiency
o Enhance capacity in urgent care by managing patients and providing timely information.
o Support efficient, well‑organised clinical environments.
* Communication, Patient Engagement & Experience
o Communicate sensitively, providing clear advice and safety netting.
o Contribute to a reassuring patient experience in urgent care settings.
* Clinical Governance, Documentation & Risk Management
o Maintain accurate, timely documentation.
o Apply risk awareness and timely escalation.
o Participate in audits and governance processes.
* Team Collaboration & Multidisciplinary Working
o Work closely with GPs, nurses, ANPs/ACPs, paramedics, and community practitioners.
o Share clinical insights for safe handover and collaboration.
* Professional Development & Supporting Others
o Build expertise through training, supervision, and reflective practice.
o Support junior colleagues and contribute to service improvement.
Qualifications – Essential
* Registered Paramedic or Nurse (HCPC/NMC).
* Non‑Medical Prescriber (V300).
* L7 Minor illness/advanced history taking module or working towards.
* Commitment to completing advanced qualifications (e.g. L7 Masters).
* Relevant clinical qualification for urgent or primary care practice.
* Current UK professional registration.
Qualifications – Desirable
* Post‑qualification training in urgent care, minor illness, minor injury, or clinical assessment.
Skills & Knowledge – Essential
* Autonomous clinical decision‑making for acute and chronic conditions.
* Strong communication and organisational liaison.
* Assessment and management of paediatric patients.
* Structured clinical assessment and relevant information gathering.
* Escalation within defined scope and safe advice provision.
* Independent workload management within protocols.
* Risk awareness, early deterioration recognition, and safety netting.
* Accurate, timely documentation.
* Professionalism, calmness, and solutions‑focused approach under pressure.
* Knowledge of minor illness, injury, red flags, safeguarding, and escalation.
* Understanding of confidentiality, governance, data protection, infection control.
Skills & Knowledge – Desirable

Salary: £45,000 to £51,500 per year
