Fixed Term for 12 months (Maternity Leave Cover)
Full time (37 hours per week)
We are looking for an experienced and confident Scheme Manager to join our Temporary Accommodation team on a maternity leave cover basis. This is a key role managing the day‑to‑day running of a temporary accommodation scheme and linked off‑site properties across the borough, ensuring safe, well‑maintained accommodation and a supportive environment for customers experiencing homelessness.
You will lead and support a team of Homeless Support Officers, an ABEN Co‑ordinator and caretakers, providing strong line management, regular supervision and clear direction. As a capable people manager, you will work autonomously, make sound operational decisions and allocate work effectively to ensure high standards of service delivery, performance and customer care.
The role requires a confident communicator who can build strong working relationships with internal and external partners, challenge constructively when needed and put customer voice at the heart of services. You will oversee tenancy and void management, manage scheme finances and income collection, and ensure properties meet health and safety requirements. Safeguarding will be central to your work, acting as a safeguarding champion for both customers and colleagues.
This maternity leave opportunity offers the chance to step into a meaningful leadership role where you can have an immediate impact, gain valuable experience and contribute to improving temporary accommodation provision during an important period. You will be supported by an experienced management team and benefit from flexible working, generous annual leave, pension provision and a range of staff benefits.
If you are resilient, organised and motivated by making a difference for people at a challenging time in their lives, we would welcome your application.
