Overview
Country General Manager UK & Ireland role at BD Nogales Norte. BD is a global medical technology company focused on advancing health through innovative products and solutions. This role provides leadership to the UK & Ireland organization and develops BD’s business for balanced and profitable revenue growth.
In this role, you will ensure the efficiency and alignment of the Go-To-Market organization to the healthcare systems, markets, sales channels and customers across BD businesses, while crafting shared value through engagement and external collaborations and partnerships as needed. You will report to the President for EMEA and be a member of the EMEA Leadership Team, serving as the linkage between BD's global capabilities and the needs of the UK & Ireland region.
Key Responsibilities
* Demonstrate sound knowledge of the UK & Ireland healthcare environment and understand mid-term and long-term trends influencing the markets.
* Build an extensive network of external partners and maintain access to national healthcare authorities who supervise industry and reimbursement decisions.
* Represent BD in industry associations and monitor the healthcare market to identify opportunities.
* Build external coalitions for pivotal initiatives, aligning internal functions and relevant businesses for support and expertise.
* Lead activities to achieve short- and long-term business objectives, driving sustainable growth and profitability.
* Develop Go-To-Market strategies to ensure effective market and channel resource deployment and coverage aligned with current and future customer needs.
* Lead high-level negotiations in the region and maintain relationships with key business partners to drive revenue growth.
* Ensure BD’s relationships and agreements with distributors, agents and supply chain partners reflect best industry practices and comply with applicable laws and regulations.
* Proactively lead and support standardization and effectiveness of business processes in collaboration with regional functional leaders.
* Be accountable for the P&L (Revenue, Gross Profit, SSG&A) and for achieving financial objectives (cash flow management).
* Partner with regional/worldwide businesses to build a 3–5 year country strategy and create an integrated country plan across business units to overcome internal barriers.
* Maintain and regularly update the strategy and communicate progress.
Talent Development
* Lead the country’s talent agenda by building capabilities to deliver the 3–5 year strategy in line with the company direction.
* Identify, coach and develop future leaders and champions, creating development opportunities and building high-performing teams.
Governance and Communication
* Ensure BD meets or exceeds standards of legal and ethical compliance, upholding integrity and recognizing that the company’s reputation depends on appropriate behavior globally.
* Drive process alignment and efficiency for country functions within the scope of global functional strategies.
About You
University bachelor’s degree in business administration. MBA or equivalent experience preferred.
Experiences
* Extensive senior leadership experience in Sales and Marketing, ideally with proven experience in the Medical Devices and capital equipment markets.
* Mastery of marketing, selling and new business development skills.
Knowledge and Skills
* General management and P&L responsibility experience, in-country or regional leadership.
* Strong track record of business success in a healthcare environment.
* Experience in organizational change and change management.
* Solid knowledge of the British healthcare system, its environment and key collaborators.
* Ability to collaborate with external leaders and key influencers and lead cross-sector initiatives.
* Demonstrated skills in attracting talent and leading organizations.
