Role Responsibilities:
Provide dedicated academic support to students aged 16-19 in a specialist secondary school for learners with special educational needs.
Work collaboratively with teaching staff to deliver differentiated lessons that are accessible and meaningful for all students.
Support students with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and moderate to complex learning difficulties.
Assist pupils with preparing for adulthood, including support with life skills, employability, and functional literacy and numeracy.
Use visual aids, structured routines, and communication systems (e.g., PECS, Makaton) to enhance engagement and independence.
Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment where learners can build confidence and self-esteem.Requirements:
Prior experience in care, support work or similar
Familiarity with SEND needs and support
Ability to motivate and engage pupils through personalised strategies.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position.
