Overview
Duties include transportation, companionship, assisting with accessing social and leisure activities (e.g., going to the local café, short walks), and accompanying me to appointments or meetings.
Responsibilities
* Transportation and accompaniment to appointments/meetings
* Provide companionship and act as a good listener with a curious mind
* Identify times of stress and anxiety, help regulate thoughts and impulses, and use de-escalation techniques as needed
* Be open to meeting in public settings (local cafes) and going out for short walks
* Maintain high standards of health, safety, hygiene, and confidentiality
* Follow instructions and work on own initiative
* Be reliable, punctual, and well organized
* Remain non-judgmental, patient, and have a joyful and flexible mindset
Qualifications and expectations
* Training and/or experience in understanding mental health; ongoing support from other professionals will be provided
* Experience or skill in identifying stress/anxiety and supporting regulation
* Good listening skills, ability to discuss topics such as science, and strong intuition
* Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours
