Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Team Leader within the Research and Innovation Division you will:
* Lead the technical delivery of research projects, ensuring delivery to time, cost, and quality requirements.
* Support business growth activities through bid development, technical strategy creation, and solution development.
* Identify opportunities to exploit research outputs into future products and capabilities.
* Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary research programmes.
* Lead and coordinate small teams of researchers and technical specialists.
* Develop innovative solutions across a range of scientific and engineering disciplines.
* Communicate complex technical concepts and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Analyse technical outputs and provide clear recommendations to support decision-making.
* Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and stakeholders to develop and deliver advanced technical solutions.
* Support and mentor junior team members, contributing to their professional development.
* Utilise scientific computing tools such as MATLAB and Python to support modelling, analysis, and research activities.
Professional qualifications
* Degree or PhD qualified in Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
* Demonstrable experience planning, coordinating, and delivering research programmes.
* Proven track record of developing innovative technical solutions.
* Experience using scientific computing software such as MATLAB, Python, or similar tools.
* Ability to obtain Security Clearance (SC).
