Responsibilities
1. Achieve Profitability, Growth and Expense targets by managing and operating to the Key Performance Indicators of the region.
2. Write renewals and mid-term adjustments of varyingplexity up to authority and binder limits. Authority level is reflective of knowledge, experience and qualifications.
3. Enhance Arch's standing and presence locally by establishing and maintaining strong personal relationships with key directors and staff at the Region's most important brokers
4. Contribute towards business Ie & Gross Written Premium (GWP) objectives whilst working towards the business's annual Target Loss Ratios and rate targets.
5. Responsibility to ensure survey requests, survey overviews and policy documentation are processed, maintaining all relevant reporting tools.
6. Conduct regular case reviews to ensure that technical procedures and standards are followed, in accordance with thepany QA procedures.
7. Contribute to the technical knowledge of thepany by feeding back technical andmercial market intelligence to the Regional Director & wider team.
8. Maintain personal knowledge of relevant technical issues.
9. Work collaboratively with other parts of the organisation, especially the claims and survey teams, when required.
Role Requirements & Skills
Skills /petencies
10. Understanding your insurance market - at least 3 years' experience inmercial underwriting (or broking)
11. Proven broker account development and management
12. Being able to negotiate flexibly and appropriately - manage a profitable portfolio
13. Renew and manage out individual cases and books of business.
14. Effective selling skills
15. Demonstrates a range of influencing and negotiation approaches
16. Risk perception/Risk selection skills
17. Pricing of risk accordingly
18. Successfully developing effective trading relationships
19. Consistently achieving goals and objectives
20. Trading successfully in the insurance marketplace
21. Experience working across functions / matrix organisation to collaborate and build strong relationships
Qualifications
Minimum Cert CII. Dip CII, or progress towards, is preferred
Experience
The job holder will have at least 3 yearsmercial Underwriting experience, strong interpersonal skills and work in a structured, planned manner.
