Job Description:
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Lecturer in Social Work to join our dedicated Education & Social Care Department.
The successful applicant will teach across social work education modules on our BA (Hons) Social Work Degree Course. They will also take on a pastoral role for a year group.
We welcome applications from industry professionals looking to move to a career in Education.
This is a part-time role working 28 hours per week.
Interviews are planned to take place on Friday 5th September
Responsibilities include:
* To teach courses specified by the Departmental Leadership Team.
* To participate actively in curriculum development, and, where appropriate, in cross-college marketing activities.
* To assess the work and progress of all students and provide them with constructive and timely feedback.
* To seek ways of improving student performance by reflecting on teaching design and delivery, and obtaining and analysing feedback.
* To develop and apply innovative approaches to improving the learning environment, teaching and/or assessment and feedback methods
* Engage in professional development relating to teaching, learning and assessment, including the use of an evidence-informed approach, which utilises the outcomes of scholarship to enhance teaching practice.
* To participate actively in the enrolment, induction, monitoring, profiling and initial assessment of students or trainees.
* To devise individual learning plans and provide support for learners in line with the requirements of the course.
* To be responsible to the Head of Department for student discipline, counselling and guidance for all assigned classes.
* To be responsible for the supervision and management of students on placements, off-site visits and activities where appropriate.
* To proactively contribute to the success and vision of the department
* To undertake programme leadership duties as specified by your line manager or the Head of Department
