As a Lead Controls and Automation Engineer, you will be part of a highly skilled, multidisciplinary team delivering innovative control system solutions for projects.
From project inception to commissioning and sea trials, your work will help power vessels around the world with intelligent, efficient control systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Delivering full lifecycle control system projects – from order receipt to vessel commissioning and sea trials.
* Acting as a technical liaison with customers, classification societies, and suppliers.
* Creating design, installation, and test documentation throughout the project cycle.
* Collaborating with the Drawing Office on schematics, wiring diagrams, and interface schedules.
* Designing PLC and HMI architectures, networks, and communications using standard platforms.
* Writing software using IEC 61131-3 languages (LD, FBD, ST, IL, SFC).
* Developing and testing HMI SCADA interfaces and system mimics.
* Leading factory acceptance testing and supporting on-site commissioning phases.
* Supporting internal teams including sales, service, and commissioning with technical expertise.
Requirements
* Degree-qualified in Electrical, Electronic or Control Systems Engineering (or equivalent professional experience).
* Experienced in designing and integrating control & automation systems.
* Solid working knowledge of PLC programming and industrial protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC-UA, Profibus, Profinet).
* Strong communication and documentation skills.
* Eligible to work in the UK without restriction.
