We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with lived experience of mental health difficulties and access to community, primary, or secondary mental health services. The role is 22.5 hours weekly and will be a highly valued team member based in the Shrewsbury Central East Community Mental Health Team.
The role involves working alongside a team of psychology professionals to use your lived experience to support individuals on a one-to-one and group basis, exploring personal goals and recovery, primarily through co-facilitating groups. You will work closely with team members to co-produce the service's group offerings and materials.
Responsibilities include:
1. Working directly with an identified caseload of individuals and their carers through various methods including video/telephone calls, texts, and face-to-face sessions.
2. Using your lived experience to offer understanding, support, and hope, promoting independence and recovery.
3. Supporting individuals and their groups to reach personalized goals, escalating concerns to senior staff when necessary.
4. Helping individuals identify their strengths and triggers, and supporting them to establish what is important to their lives, including setting and achieving goals.
5. Championing a recovery-oriented service by promoting involvement, engagement, participation, and co-production opportunities.
6. Co-designing and co-delivering therapeutic groups and activities as equal partners.
7. Challenging stigma within the service, community, and partner organizations.
8. Encouraging individuals to participate in ongoing service review and co-design.
9. Participating in peer supervision.
10. Adhering to policies and protocols relevant to your area of work.
