Our client, a Civils and Environmental Construction/Engineering business is looking to add to the growing team with an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety Manager. It will involve travel to various sites and ongoing works to assess, audit and report on any set up and potential issues. It is envisaged that this role will cover small and temporary works in the main so experience in these fields is advantageous. You will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for all employees. This position involves developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with legal regulations. The ideal candidate will be proactive in identifying potential hazards, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a culture of safety within the organisation. Duties Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation. Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions. Provide training and support to staff on health and safety practices, including first aid training. Liaise with regulatory bodies, ensuring that the organisation meets all legal obligations regarding health and safety. Promote a culture of health and safety awareness across all levels of the organisation through effective communication strategies. Skills Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct root cause analysis effectively. Experience in Health and Safety in the Construction sector. Excellent report writing skills, capable of producing clear, concise documentation for various stakeholders. Knowledge of first aid practices and ability to provide training as necessary. Strong communication skills to engage with employees at all levels effectively. Proficient in developing training materials and conducting workshops on health and safety topics. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating leadership qualities when required. This role is essential for fostering a safe workplace environment while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The Health & Safety Manager will be instrumental in driving continuous improvement in safety standards throughout the organisation. Head Office is in West Yorkshire but the role can mainly be remote/on site with occasional visits to the office.
