EV Charging, Procurement and Partnership Manager
Based at Norton Canes, near Cannock
Working within this innovative new function, this role will significantly contribute to EV Charging, Sustainability, and Renewable Energy initiatives. The role involves collaborating with partners to support Roadchef’s CaaS (Charging as a Service) business model, expanding our EV charging presence at Motorway Service Areas, and providing customers with a reliable, user-friendly, engaging, and informative experience.
Requirements:
You must have experience in EV infrastructure or mobility-as-a-service sectors.
This role requires being part of a fast-paced, agile team responsible for developing our long-term EV vision with innovative solutions that differentiate our products and services.
As part of the EV, ESG & Renewables team, this position will focus on managing outsourcing relationships with key suppliers. The successful candidate will review, update, and execute our EV charging outsourcing strategy, manage current supplier relationships, monitor performance metrics, and lead supplier tendering processes. Expertise in EV, supply chain evaluation, and partner management is essential, with a focus on operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
1. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, tailoring content to audience needs.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams through strong communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Oversee end-to-end implementation of EV charging infrastructure projects under the CaaS model.
4. Coordinate with technical teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure timely and within-budget project delivery.
5. Establish and manage service level agreements for reliability, maintenance, and uptime.
6. Provide detailed recommendations and business cases to senior stakeholders.
7. Stay informed on EV infrastructure policies, incentives, and compliance requirements.
8. Advocate for policies and partnerships supporting EV adoption and infrastructure growth.
9. Identify risks proactively and develop mitigation plans.
10. Develop decision-making frameworks considering cost, scalability, risk, and sustainability.
11. Identify target markets, potential customers, and partnership opportunities to expand the CaaS portfolio.
12. Keep abreast of advancements in EV charging technology, software, and energy storage solutions.
13. Manage project timelines, budgets, and performance metrics, making adjustments as needed.
14. Lead supplier selection, negotiations, and contracting to secure optimal terms.
15. Conduct supplier evaluations balancing technical, commercial, and operational criteria.
16. Collaborate with suppliers to design and implement the target operating model.
17. Conduct regular project meetings and updates to communicate progress and address issues.
18. Explore integration of AI, IoT, and predictive analytics for enhanced services.
19. Act as the primary contact for clients and partners, ensuring satisfaction and operational issue resolution.
20. Develop tailored CaaS solutions to meet customer needs, focusing on scalability and efficiency.
21. Monitor customer feedback and usage data to improve service delivery and retention.
22. Use experience to inform timely decision-making.
23. Ensure pricing strategies are competitive and sustainable.
24. Define KPIs, SLAs, and governance frameworks for high-quality service delivery.
25. Manage ongoing supplier relationships to achieve operational excellence.
Financial Management
1. Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial models to assess project viability and profitability.
2. Monitor KPIs such as uptime, utilization, and ROI for CaaS initiatives.
Governance Responsibilities
1. Establish and lead governance structures for supplier performance management.
2. Monitor and report on SLA adherence and KPIs, implementing corrective actions as needed.
3. Foster strong partnerships with suppliers aligned with strategic objectives.
Experience:
* Experience in EV infrastructure or mobility-as-a-service sectors.
* Proven track record in supplier evaluation, procurement, tendering, and relationship management.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills.
* Ability to navigate regulatory landscapes and ensure compliance.
Technical Skills:
* Strong understanding of EV charging technologies and business models.
* Proficiency in project management.
