We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Prodution Operative / Machine Operator to join our growing team at Skirtings R Us. The role will suit someone from a practical, hands on background as well as machine operator.
We are looking for someone who is a quick learner and can work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role offers an ambitious individual the chance to develop their manufacturing skill set & knowledge, and in turn be rewarded with the opportunity to progress within the company.
The ideal candidate must have a reasonable level of fitness as there will be an element of lifting in some areas of the business.
Must be reliable/dependable, as well as a quick learner and should possess a reasonable level of computer literacy and Numeracy
Outline
The role will include operating machinery to manufacture skirting boards, architrave etc to supply the building trade and the public sector.
This role will put you into an array of production related situations & is a great opportunity to develop a broad range of both personal & professional skills.
Your responsibilities would include
Machining raw materials for the manufacturing process, operating a paint/finishing machine, a machine saw, drills, and other machines associated with the production of wood-based products.
· Stocking of products for dispatch.
· Documenting production – Completing a log/check sheet to ensure each order is completed & calculated correctly.
· Order dispatch – Ensuring the correct products are picked wrapped & packed. You will be required to enter details into a computerised courier system.
· Must be able to assist with the loading of goods vehicles.
· Must always maintain a high level of 5S (housekeeping).
Requirements
· The ideal candidate must be a good communicator and work well others as well as alone.
· You must possess a reasonable level of maths as you will have to measure and work out sizes of stock using a tape measure & other measuring tools.
· The right candidate must be enthusiastic and be willing to learn & develop.
· Must have own transport and be able to commute to and from Droitwich area on a daily basis.
· Must be flexible as sometimes overtime is required to ensure production orders are met.
· FLT licence is advantageous but not essential.
· Experience in a woodworking manufacturing/assembly environment would be advantageous.
Transport – Our factory is based in Droitwich, so you may need a driving license and a car to get to us if you live further afield.
Additional
Previous experience in wood working and/or a forklift truck license would be advantageous.
Holiday – 28 days holiday including bank holidays.
Salary - Up to £34,635.00 per year depending on experience
