Lead Pump Test Engineer position at Nijhuis Saur Industries.
We have a unique opportunity to join a talented multi‑disciplined team. We are looking for a self‑motivated individual with passion for engineering and technology. Experience in mechanical, hydraulic and/or electrical fields, along with on‑site industry exposure and the ability to lead a small team, is required. Familiarity with pumps and fundamentals of pumping, and competency with IT for data collation, are essential.
The role requires frequent UK travel on a weekly basis and, after training, international travel for specialist projects worldwide.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Flexibility to work away from home for site work in the UK and overseas.
* Install specialist equipment on site; maintain and repair equipment at our Stoke facility.
* Work autonomously from home when not on site, following health and safety protocols.
* Lead a small team of 2‑3 people.
* Collaborate with wider technical teams on cross‑disciplinary projects.
* Maintain respectful, professional interactions with customers, colleagues, and the community.
* Perform site surveys to scope new work and assist with planning, RAMS, and authorisation.
* Aim for high standards of work across multiple bespoke projects in a dynamic, energized environment.
Required Skills / Qualifications
* At least 3 years of experience in hydraulic, mechanical, process or similar engineering disciplines (or equivalent learning experience).
* Completed apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical engineering, or Level 3 BTEC in those fields.
* Understanding of engineering disciplines and technologies relating to the water / pumping industry.
* Demonstrable contribution to overall success with tangible outcomes.
* Proficiency in MS 365, particularly Excel (preferred).
* Knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation – ideal but training will be provided.
* Strong learning aptitude for new products and disciplines.
* Full driving licence (essential).
